Road Upgrades

Puggaree

As the Head Contractor, Road & Bridge were engaged by the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP) to upgrade of approximately 2.2km of Pugga- ree Road & Glen Artie Road near Bellbird Creek in Victoria.

These works were required to enable all weather access to a burnt- out bridge that had been destroyed in the bushfires summer of 2019-20.

The works completed by Road & Bridge will allow access in early spring for DELWP to replace the burnt-out bridge structure.

This roadworks rehabilitation project consisted of re-grading the formation of the existing road and drains followed by a 150 mm resheet with 20mm Class 3 crushed Rock; the installa- tion of a 450-diameter reinforced concrete pipe for storm- water drainage improvements and minor earthworks.

Awarded this contract in Autumn, Road & Bridge, were quick to mobilise and had the works completed within one week, before the arrival of winter and with-it, poor weather conditions.
